Wainwright’s Handyman & Land Maintenance is a family business run by Bryan Wainwright and his wife in Groveland, California. This page explains what information we collect through this website, why, and who else handles it. The short version: we use your details to do your job, and nothing else. We never sell them.

What we collect

When you ask for an estimate

Your name, phone number, email address (if you give one), property address, the best time to reach you, the kind of work you need, what you tell us about it, and the day and time you would prefer. If you answer the optional question about junk hauling, we keep that answer too, so Bryan can count how many people would use the service.

If you send photos for an estimate

The photos you text or email, and what you tell us about the job. They are used only to give you an estimate and do the work, and they are never put on the site without your say-so.

If you leave a review

Your name, the area you are in, your star rating and what you write. These are shown on the site once Bryan has read the review. When someone taps “helpful” on a review, we keep a scrambled code made from their internet address so each person counts once; the address itself is not stored and the code cannot be turned back into it.

If a review is ever taken down, we keep a record of when and why, with its name and rating. The text is kept too, except when the review held someone else’s private details or its writer asked us to remove it.

If you send photographs of your property

Only the pictures you say may go on the site, with a first name and town underneath only if you asked for that. Addresses are never shown. Ask and a photograph comes down again, no reason needed.

If you create an account in the customer portal

• Your email address and a password. The password is stored scrambled by our sign-in provider; nobody here can read it.
• If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us. Nothing else.
• Anything you add or do in the portal: your name, phone and address, messages to Bryan, when you say “go ahead” on an estimate, and times you ask for.

Kept only in your own browser

• Your sign-in, so you do not have to sign in on every visit. Signing out removes it.
• Your ticks on the fire-safe checklist. These never leave your device.
• If you try the demo tour, its made-up sample jobs. These never leave your device either.

This site has no advertising and no tracking. It does not use analytics tools or advertising cookies. Its lettering (fonts) is loaded from Google Fonts, and the portal loads one piece of code from jsDelivr, a public code library. Like any website you visit, those services can see your device’s internet address when they send those files.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies — none of its own, and none from anyone else. What it remembers (your portal sign-in, your checklist ticks, the demo tour’s sample jobs) is kept in your browser’s own storage and never used to track you. Signing out removes the sign-in; clearing your browser’s site data removes everything. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.

How we use it

• To reply to you, give you an estimate, book a time and do the work.
• To show you your jobs, estimates, booked dates and messages in the portal.
• To keep the records any business keeps, such as what work was done and what was paid.

We do not put you on marketing lists, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.

Who else handles it

A few services do specific jobs for us. They only get what they need for that job.

• Supabase stores the job records and runs the sign-in for the portal, on servers in the United States.
• Resend, our email provider, sends the sign-in and password emails, the note to Bryan when you ask for an estimate, and the emails telling you when your job is booked, moved or cancelled.
• GitHub Pages hosts this website. Like any web host, it records visitors’ internet addresses in its server logs to keep the site secure. We do not see or use those logs.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, and because Bryan’s business email is Gmail.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (from Google) delivers a short alert to Bryan’s phone when you send a request or a message. The alert contains your name and the kind of work only, never your phone number, address or message.
• Facebook only if you follow the link to Bryan’s Facebook page. This site has no Facebook code on it, so nothing about your visit is sent to Facebook unless you click; after that, Facebook’s own privacy policy applies.
• Nextdoor the same way: only if you follow the link to Bryan’s Nextdoor page, and then under Nextdoor’s own privacy policy.
• Documents on your job — an estimate, a contract or a photo of a paper agreement — are kept in private storage with Supabase. Only you (signed in to your account) and the business can open them, each time through a link that expires within minutes, and they are kept with the job’s records.
• Bryan’s own phone keeps the details of his jobs, so he has your address and number when he is on his way.
• If Bryan helps with a computer, phone or other device, he only looks at what the job needs, with your say-so, and keeps no copy of anything on it.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How we keep it safe

• Everything travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
• Each customer can see only their own jobs. Only the people who run the business — Bryan, his wife, and the family member who looks after this website — can see everyone’s.
• Private notes Bryan keeps about a job (a gate code, where the key is) are never shown in the portal.

No system is perfect, but we have taken care to keep your information to the people who need it.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are a customer, and after that for as long as records of the work are needed, for example for taxes. Ask us to delete your details at any time and we will, except anything the law requires us to keep.

Your choices

Everything below is in the customer portal, under the menu button at the top right of every page.

• See what we hold. My information shows your details, every job, and every message, all from our own records. It prints, so you can keep a copy.
• Correct it. My details lets you change your name, phone and address yourself.
• Delete it. Delete my account sends Bryan the request. He removes what he can and confirms with you. Records of finished work stay in his books because tax law requires it, and nothing beyond that is kept.
• Prefer to talk to someone? Call or email Bryan, below. Either way works, and neither costs anything.

We answer these requests ourselves, usually within a few days and always within 45 days. We never charge for them, and we never treat anyone differently for asking.

Because this site does not track you, it treats every visit the same whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.

Children

This site is for adults arranging work on their property. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
