Our story
A true jack of all trades
For Bryan Wainwright, working with his hands has never just been a job. For nearly a decade, he has been learning, building, fixing, painting, maintaining, and figuring things out along the way. With 8–10 years of hands-on experience gained through both professional work and teaching himself new skills, Bryan has become what many would call a true jack of all trades.
He especially loves painting and hands-on work—the kind of work where he can see a project go from an idea or a problem to something finished and done right.
Bryan does the work himself. There is no call center and no rotating crew — you call the number on this page and he answers it.
Why the business came to be
Building something around the family
For a while, Bryan was doing handyman work on the side while searching for a full-time job that could provide enough income for him to support his family. But as a husband and father of two, with another baby on the way, finding a traditional job that offered both the income and flexibility his family needed became increasingly difficult.
Then came a different idea.
While Bryan was trying to figure out what came next, his wife had a vision of the two of them building a business together instead of Bryan continuing to work for someone else. The more they talked about it, the more it made sense. Bryan already had the skills, the experience, and the love for the work. What he needed was an opportunity to build something sustainable around his family—not work his family around someone else’s schedule.
And so, Wainwright’s Handyman & Land Maintenance was born.
The name is simple: Wainwright is our family name, and this business is something we are building as a family.

Our goal is to provide honest, dependable work for the people in our community while giving Bryan the opportunity to do what he loves. Whether it’s a home repair, a painting project, a handyman job, or managing and maintaining the land around a property, Bryan approaches each project with the same principles.

We believe there is value in having someone who can look at a project, think through the problem, communicate honestly about what needs to be done, and take pride in doing the job thoroughly.
For our family, this business is about more than making a living. It’s about building financial stability for our growing family, creating a future we can be proud of, and allowing Bryan to make a living doing something he genuinely enjoys.

What that looks like in practice
He shows up
If Bryan says Tuesday morning, it is Tuesday morning. If something goes wrong, you get a call rather than silence.
An estimate before work
A free rough estimate from your photos, then a final estimate once the scope is confirmed, before anything begins.
Plain answers
No jargon and no pressure. Ask as many questions as you like — that is part of the job, not an interruption.
Left tidy
Debris loaded and hauled off, tools packed up, and a walk-through together before he leaves.
Working with older neighbors
A lot of this work is for people who used to do it themselves
Pine Mountain Lake has plenty of residents who spent thirty years maintaining their own property and are no longer able to get up the ladder or spend a day with a rake. That is most of what this business is.
So the way the job is handled matters as much as the job itself:
- Nobody is talked down to, and nobody is rushed into a decision.
- No extras get added to a job without being asked about first.
- Prices are written down in plain language before work starts.
- Family members out of the area can be kept in the loop by phone, email or photos.
- If a job needs a licensed trade instead, Bryan says so rather than taking the work.

Pine Mountain Lake, Groveland, Greeley Hill, Coulterville, Buck Meadows, Jamestown, Columbia and Sonora. Jobs more than a 25-minute drive from Groveland carry a travel fee for the time on the road — Bryan tells you up front. If you are not sure, just ask.
